Did you ever play 52 card pickup? My sister got me with this one when I was a little kid. “Hey Steve, want to play 52 card pickup?” Sure. OK. “Well, then you go first (throwing a deck of cards into the air and watching them flutter down to every part of the living room) and pick them up.”

Now that it's over I can laugh about it, but moving is a lot like 52 card pickup. Your entire life goes up into the air and comes down in a fresh new place. In the end, good. In the beginning and during, very difficult. Lynn and I have just gone through this process over the past 24 months and are just now getting all the cards picked up and put in their place. I am thrilled to finally be getting back to normal, (whatever that means) albeit a completely new one.
But, the process of moving, downsizing and considering what really matters in your life is totally worth the incredible cost of time and headaches. I think we all need to just do it a little more often, then it would be a lot easier. 32 years is way too long! Now let's get back to work! Here's a preview of our new ArtHouse...
