Prior to forming Steve Payne Photography he served as chief photographer for both the West Virginia Department of Commerce and The Department of Culture & History.

I have traveled with cowboys, hung from helicopters, escaped near death in "dead man's curve", performed with Booker T. & The MG's, dined with Arnold Newman, Danced with The Stars, and live without regret.
