"I had just paid for my meal, and as I turned to leave, I looked up into a very tall and gorgeous blonde."

Many of you know that I'm a huge golf fan. So, to meet one of my golfing heroes in the Lewisburg Subway restaurant on the way to the Greenbrier river for a multi-day photo shoot was quite a surprise. I had just paid for my meal, and as I turned to leave, I looked up into a very tall and gorgeous blonde. She was so tall that she startled me a bit. I paused and then started to move toward the door when I saw Bubba Watson holding his son Caleb right behind her. Of course, she was Angie Watson, Bubba's wife, and former pro basketball player. Now I'm not one to invade celebrities private lives, but it was Bubba Watson and I LOVE golf! So, I had to pause and give Bubba props for not only entertaining me on the golf course but for being a great role model for kids everywhere who want to be like him. He had Caleb give me a high five and I was off. Then I saw Bubba's truck in the parking lot. Damn, that's a big truck! Totally custom Oakley truck, in black digital camo. Very cool. A good start to the trip!

"I was startled again. This time a loud crash in the woods behind me, signaled the arrival of a mother bear and her two cubs."

The next morning, as I was wading in the middle of the Greenbrier River looking for something to see, I was startled again. This time a loud crash in the woods behind me, signaled the arrival of a mother bear and her two cubs. I had my camera and tripod on my shoulder, and as I jumped backward I almost fell in the water. Once I realized they were going to move away from me and swim across the river, I managed to get the camera to my eye and get this shot before they disappeared into the woods on the other side. And, that's my story of Bubba and the three bears...

Note: Some folks ask why I don’t allow comments? The simple truth is, that I’m still a working photographer and have a family, am involved in my church and other community activities, and, I love to play golf! I just don’t have the time to deal with it. But, if you see me in person, you can talk my ear off about photography, business, golf, yoga, cars, faith, art, design, or just life! I would love to meet you! Peace, SP
